I am going to throw balls again;-)
I see the website of Open Sim World is not friendly for opensim-users anymore, since they have a strict mandate to pay for your uploads.
Which users don't want, so they are left to use the chats or just use it as a tool to find info about grids and regions.
In my opinion this is a great lost and it makes me wonder why there is nobody who is standing up and make a similar website, with the original Open Sim mentality.
The owner of OSW has deff the SL-mentality, where everyone have to pay for everything.
I.m.o. he chooses the wrong path.
What you see nowadays, is that Events only are publishing and many users are gone and using other social media platforms.
The template they use and the idea around OSW is a very good one, since it connects OS-users, which has great efforts.
Now I wonder, why is there not anyone around OS who makes such a similar website, but with the old school mentality that every user should be able to connect and publish for free?
One can make ristrictions ofcourse, to manage the data, but it would be a great succes if you communicate it smart.
But here's the creative mind speaking and not a scripter; " Is it not possible to tweak a simple script, which points to the website?".
It's like monopoly, where just one guy, who seems to be the smartest guy of the classroom who owns the whole project.
I really believe it can be done, if people are aware and eager to setup such.
Question is who and when?
