Pirates have created a modern analogue of Steam with free games

A pirated version of Steam with a built-in Torrent client has appeared on GitHub

The open project Hydra Launcher has appeared on the GitHub platform. This application has an integrated Torrent client and a search function for game repacks

The Hydra Launcher team has announced support for a wide range of platforms, including Windows, Linux, Steam Deck and SteamDB, with the ability to download all Steam games locally. The project includes detailed game pages with descriptions and download links, a built-in Torrent client, an offline repack parser, and a timer that tracks time spent in games.

In addition, the application provides a function for closing games through the launcher, a game recommendation system, integration with the HowLongToBeat service, which provides information about the time required to complete the game, notifications about repack updates, the ability to add third-party games to the launcher, and a library for managing downloaded games.

The developers intend to regularly update Hydra Launcher, and in the long term they plan to turn it into a full-fledged gaming social platform, providing opportunities for creating profiles and adding friends.

Those are not pirates, and it's not a pirate version of steam. It's just a multipurpose game launcher. If they were pirates, they wouldn't show off on github :D
