Hackers attacked the publisher of Dark Souls, Elden Ring and Tekken

Bandai Namco has confirmed that it has been subjected to a hack that threatens the privacy of customers in the Asian region. A message about this appeared on the website of the publication PCMag.

It is noted that a Japanese video game publisher was attacked by a gang of cybercriminals, which is known under the pseudonyms ALPHV and BlackCat. The incident occurred on July 3 and affected several branches of organizations in the Asian region. Bandai Namco did not specify which countries they were talking about, but noted that the incident did not exactly affect the Japanese office.

The hackers are threatening to release data on Bandai Namco's business from the attack unless the company pays them a ransom. The amount requested by the cybercriminals is not disclosed.

Bandai Namco is known for such gaming franchises as Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Tekken and more.
